What’s Your Side Effect? (WYSE) is not your typical drug prevention campaign. Sure, it’s working to reduce drug abuse but when developing the campaign, The Story Shop and the original clients (4 Indiana counties and the IU Bloomington’s IPRC) knew that it wasn’t enough to tell young people to not use drugs. Instead, we took an innovative path creating an inspirational storytelling campaign that invites people to consider developing their passions and talents in pursuit of a life driven by personal development and community impact.

krM Architecture’s obsession with craft and quality doesn’t end with their innovative, sustainable design. It extends well beyond the spaces they create to the people that will ultimately use them. The Story Shop partnered with krM to create a new storytelling initiative focused on capturing the love krM pours into every project. The project incorporated new messaging, website overhaul and LOTS of video content.
These 2 videos are just a sampling of the wide variety of content either developed or under development. Check out their website at www.krmarchitecture.com
The Story Shop was honored to work with the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on creating 2 national PSAs to promote the national recovery and prevention hotline. The Story Shop was responsible for every aspect of the concepts from scripting to location and talent selection to post production. The spots will begin airing in September of 2016.
One of our greatest joys is helping a community believe in themselves. These PSAs were created with our client the Scott County Partnership to rally young people to the cause of striving for a better future while instilling a sense of hope for their community. The PSAs were ultimately connected to “What’s Your Side Effect?” (WYSE), a youth-focused drug abuse prevention campaign created and maintained by The Story Shop.
Employee benefits. Healthcare consumers. Sustainable programming. Are you asleep yet? These words don’t quite strike excitement into the hearts of the typical audience and that’s the challenge that LHD Benefits was up against when they approached The Story Shop about communicating the value they provide to their clients. Together, we created a storytelling approach that focused on their client, celebrated what makes them great and connected that story to the motivation for providing the best to their employees. It was part marketing, part client retention and part celebration of the values that make a family owned company successful. This model is being extended into further client stories, helping LHD transcend the industry lingo and connect to the heart of caring for people.

IVY Tech Community College is known for innovative approaches to education. So when they contacted The Story Shop about creating a short “film” to highlight one of their classrooms, we wondered how a classroom could be that innovative. Yet after walking into their Health Sciences SIM lab, we quickly realized this wasn’t your ordinary classroom. It was state-of-the-art and way cool. So we called in an ambulance and helicopter and got to work. You read that right. Watch to see…
